Getting to Bath
Getting to Bath by Train
Bath Spa train station is located in the centre of Bath. The station is a hub in the South West and there are regular trains from Cardiff (One Hour), Bristol (About 10 Minutes) and London (Just over an hour and a half).
TheTrainLine is a popular place to buy tickets from all over the UK, book well in advance to get them cheap, and remember sometimes two singles might be cheaper.
If you get here by train head straight ahead out of the train station, go past the police station, and you will see Parade Gardens on your right, if you keep walking straight you will see the Abbey on your left. Head past the Abbey to get to the main shopping district, the Roman baths and Thermae Bath Spa.
Getting to Bath by Bus / Coach:
The (shiny) new bus station is now right next to the train station. National Express is the biggest coach company operating in the area, but for a really good deal it might be worth thinking about MegaBus, which operate cheap bus trips to Bristol, which is about 10 minutes away by car, 30 minutes bus, and 10 minutes train if you can get to Bristol Temple-Mead.
Getting to Bath by Car
Bath is located just 10 miles from junction 18 of the M4 motorway. There are also excellent motorway links from the North and Devon and Cornwall via the M5 motorway, whilst Wales is just a short drive west on the M4.
It’s worth noting that parking in Central Bath is very difficult, but the council are trying to solve the problem with numerous park and ride’s dotted around Bath, keep an eye out for road signs on your way in. Alternatively check with your hotel if they have allocated spaces, or if they have visitor parking permits available.
Getting to Bath by Plane
